Dr. Tomich will provide a practical approach to working up allergic dermatitis in both the cat and dog as well as an update on currently available topical and medical therapies for these patients. Her lectures will utilize cases to scaffold didactic information and will cover both the simple and the complex. She will also present on the most recent ISCAID antimicrobial use guidelines for canine pyoderma, a review of dermatophytosis, and her approach to less common presentations of dermatologic disease.
Speaker Bio: Lara Tomich, DVM, MS, DACVD
Dr. Lara Tomich grew up in Warwick, NY and completed her DVM at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at Tufts Veterinary Emergency Treatment and Specialties in 2016 and went on to complete a dermatology specialty internship, a dermatology residency, and a Master’s degree at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She became boarded by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2020. Dr. Tomich is currently an Assistant Professor in the Teaching Track at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and enjoys creating more interactive material to reach her students. Her dermatologic passions include creative management of allergic dermatitis, equine dermatology, and CO2 laser ablation procedures.
